With the evolving world of technology, things that previously seemed impossible are now coming to reality. Leading the race in smartphone technology is Apple, which recently amassed great attention and criticism after unveiling its new products.
Apple have been updating their products and iPhones every September of every year, and this one was no exception. Besides announcing the iPhone 8 coming out this year, Apple presented the iPhone X (pronounced iPhone 10), which has been creating a lot of buzz due to its innovative design and upgraded technology.
The changes between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 7 were physically minor, with some improvements in the software and the deletion of the headphone jack. The iPhone X, on the other hand, is said to be the most sophisticated phone that Apple has ever created. The physical changes are in fact striking.
The first alteration in appearance is that the home button, which was previously present in all versions of the iPhone, has disappeared and left space for a phone that is “fully screen”. Now, a single swipe from the bottom takes you “home”.
“Our vision has always been to create an iPhone that is entirely screen. One so immersive, the device itself disappears into the experience, and so intelligent it can respond to a tap, your voice, and even a glance. With iPhone X, that vision is now a reality. Say hello to the future,” said the company about their upcoming product.
Not only will the screen take up all of the space, but it will also be the first OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) screen which are known for their high brightness and stunning vibrance.
The iPhone X will have a 5.8 inch super retina screen, meaning that it will have a very high pixel density and resolution. Users will see a clarity and level of detail never seen before on an iPhone screen.
On the back, the dual camera system is completely re-designed in a way that allows the user to use the phone as a professional camera. With the TrueDepth camera, even emojis could be brought to life.
In addition to that, the cameras and sensors enable Face ID. The phone is able to create a precise depth map of the user’s face, making the face itself a password. This will hopefully make the device more practical and secure, as it is difficult for anyone to make use of the smartphone without the user’s permission. The new iPhone will have the most durable front and back glass in smartphone history, available in either silver or space gray.
Moreover, to the rejoice of Apple fans worldwide, the new iPhone will feature wireless charging. Say goodbye to broken wires.
Apple has announced that the iPhone X pre-orders will begin on October 27, and that shipping will begin on November 3. Prices start at 999$ and above in the US, varying at the storage space, which comes in either 64GB or 256GB.
With this new sophisticated phone, Apple is taking technology to a whole new level. Other companies might have a hard time competing with this new product and finding ideas as innovative as that of Apple.
